Don Slater
Don Slater has always been engaged with his community. From taking care of family with their own disability issues, to volunteering for good causes, Don has always lent a helping hand.
“The disabled are not a separate tribe, but a part of the human family.”
Don Slater has been serving the disabled community for many years. He has had his own disability since the age of 16. Don has always been involved, whether it be taking care of family with their own disability issues, to volunteering for good causes.
Do not judge the disabled by the standards of the world, but by the values of the spirit.
Don has dealt with media on numerous occasions, from podcasts to press interviews. He has also lobbied many politicians and pressured them into doing what is right and just.
In 2022 Don was Awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for his efforts in the disabled community.
Don has been fighting stage 4 cancer for two years, and expects to live for many years yet. His ultimate goal is to see the implementation of Bill C22 and that it is delivered fairly to all those who need it.
