Disability Without Poverty is a movement led by people with disabilities and supported by our families, friends, service providers, allies and organizations. Since the beginning of the movement, we’ve been reaching out to the disability community to join us in creating advocacy for a Canada Disability Benefit.
Our advocacy work includes putting a face to the 1 in 5 Canadians that have disabilities. Disability Without Poverty collaborated with Calgary based photographer Janet Davie. We made a callout to people with disabilities to take part in the creation of disability community lifestyle photos.
We connected with an amazing group of people, and we ended up with a collection of beautiful, honest photos. The photos will be used by Disability Without Poverty on various platforms to provide true representation of disabled people.
Thank you to everyone that took part in the creation of the photos! Your involvement proves the power and importance of Nothing About Us Without Us.
Onward!
