The CDB Act passes unanimously with Royal Assent .

The CDB undergoes Third Reading in the Senate.

Following the federal election, and fueled by intense pressure from the disabled community, the CDB is re-introduced under the new name Bill C-22.

Continued pressure leads to the tabling of Bill C-35 but due to the upcoming federal election, this bill could not progress.
November 11, 2021 - January 11, 2022
DWP hosts a petition to fast-track the CDB which receives almost 18,000 signatures. The petition was presented to the House of Commons on February 10, 2022.
September 2020
Prime Minister Trudeau proposes a Canada Disability Benefit (Bill C-35) to support the financial security of persons with disabilities.
