The conversation took place on April 28th with moderator Margot Brunner and panelists Michael Prince, Brent Page and our very own Michelle Hewitt. The chat was about the proposed Canadian Disability Benefit and what the next steps could be.
Michelle Hewitt is a disability activist in central Okanagan, British Columbia, and is currently co-chair of Disability Without Poverty, a grassroots movement working to eliminate poverty for people with disabilities in Canada.
Michael Prince joined the University of Victoria in 1987 as the first Lansdowne Professor of Social Policy in the Faculty of Human and Social Development. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Victoria.
Brent is often of two minds, holding two titles, one as Associate Director of Community Programs for the March of Dimes Canada (MODC) and the other as Executive Director of the Stroke Recovery Association of British Columbia (SRABC). SRABC is affiliated with After Stroke, a program of MODC.
